This “Yacht” sling chair was designed by architect couple Christina and Lars Andersson and produced by Huskvarna in Sweden in 1986. This iconic loungechair perfectly balances bold 1980s postmodern aesthetics with maritime functionality. The thick natural leather seating is suspended within the frame with authentic buckles and straps which gives you a floating feeling when sitting in it. True to its name, this chair was designed with a clever, space-saving folding mechanism, making it ideal for compact spaces, luxury yachts, or minimalist interiors. The high-quality tubular chrome X-frame features a smooth scissor-like motion. It collapses inward sideways with a simple, fluid gesture. The folding mechanism is fully functional. Once folded, the chair transforms from a wide, dramatic lounge piece into a remarkably flat and narrow silhouette. The triangular heavy-duty leather seat is engineered to fold naturally down the center without losing its shape, tension, or structural integrity over time. The chair is in excellent vintage condition. The chrome frame shows very minimal signs of wear. The leather is strong, secure, and has developed a wonderful character over the decades with no rips or tears.
