Who?
Meteor Gallery was founded by us, Kris Van Roosbroeck & Dieter Lizen in November 2024. It is a vintage shop and gallery born from our shared love for design, art, and each other over 19 years. We have also two kids, Bowie & Thelma, who keep us entertained when we’re not working.
When you see a meteor flying over, you can make a wish. That’s exactly what we did in the summer of 2024. We skipped our holiday travel plans to set out for a new adventure that we’ve been dreaming about for over 4 years: starting our own vintage business. These plans gained momentum when we had the opportunity to start our gallery in an industrial warehouse where Nome furniture held shop for over 7 years, as Nome owners Sanne & Bregt went on a sabbatical in October ’24.
Our collection reflects our personal taste for minimalist, well-crafted pieces in natural materials, though we also embrace colorful Memphis designs and art deco items. We have a soft spot for Danish, Italian, and French design, as well as Belgian and Dutch artists with a lasting legacy. When it comes to art, we believe in love at first sight and in forgotten or unknown artists.

After a decade as a newspaper journalist, Dieter developed a serious passion for vintage furniture. Always on the hunt for new pieces. Doubles as a party dj sometimes with Laston & Geo. Sees coffee as quintessential for a successful, happy morning. Needs to do more yoga. His kids Bowie & Thelma help to keep him grounded.
Kris
Manager, paperworker
Every space ship needs a first mate to keep the vessel on course. Though she’s mostly working behind the scenes, Kris is the one who keeps our Meteor on track with handling the paperwork, marketing, bookkeeping and a zillion other things. Oh she has two other jobs too: marketing writer at an import company of coffee machines and being the n°1 mom for Bowie & Thelma.

Ulana Perveeva is doing a masteryear as a film maker at Sint-Lucas in Audovisual Arts. Remember that name cause boy, she’s got some talent! She’s the one responsible for the beautiful shots on our website. Perhaps the most fashionable part of our team. Loves to smile a lot.
Elise
All-round, 100%’er
Sometimes you meet people who are good at almost everything they do. And Elise does a lot: she helps our clients, restores our items with great detail and built this website! She’s a vegetarian with a serious appetite. Loves yoga & camping in the great outdoors. Yet very energetic, she has a calming effect on everybody.
What?
After 6 years working at Nome Furniture, Dieter decided in the fall of 2024 to start his own company together with his girlfriend Kris: Meteor Gallery. We buy, restore and sell original mid-century vintage design furniture. In the future we also want to offer vintage art and ceramics. All of our items are carefully choosen, cleaned and, if needed, restored by us or by other skilled professionals. Our passion for vintage furniture was ignited by the Scandinavian designers but we broadened our horizon to Belgian, Dutch, French and Italian pieces.
Where?
Our warehouse and workshop are located at Van Trierstraat 41A in the Markgrave quarter, a residential neighborhood in the south part of the city of Antwerp. We gather, restore and photograph all of our items here. We would love to welcome you here to view & feel our items. As a bonus: the neighborhood block has a lot of nice, small places to visit like cafés, a wine shop, yoga studio, park and an excellent trattoria.
