Shelving unit ‘Stokkenkast’ by W. Lutjens, Holland, 1950’s
Shelving unit, designed by Willem Lutjens and produced by Gouda den Boer in the Netherlands during the 1950’s. The system consists of six original birch veneered shelves, connected by solid birch sticks that can be screwed on to each shelf, so the unit can be dismantled completely. The 46 cm shelf makes for a comfortable small desk. There’s six shelves with a depth of 20 cm and width of 183 cm. The wall unit can stand on its own and is suitable for small items and books. If it were to be heavily loaded or you have small children crawling around, it’s strongly advised to attach this piece to the wall. Some using marks but overall in a good vintage condition.
