Set of 8 dining chairs ‘Baletta’ by Enrico Delmonte (Sold)
On hold – Set of 8 ‘Baletta’ Chairs designed by Enrico Delmonte and crafted in black lacquered beechwood in Chiavari, Italy during the 1950’s. This “Baletta” model is a highly collectible model and rarely seen in a set of 8. Its simple and slender lines with the 3 horizontal lines on the backrest make it attractive for a lot of interiors. Baletta, meaning ‘little ball’ in Genovese dialect is referring to the ball-shaped feet that are very remarkable. This design first appeared in Chiavari manufacturers’ catalogs in the 1940s. The wicker seats are in very good, patinated condition. One of the frames has been restored, but further in very good state, as shown in the pictures.
