Set of 6 Danish teak dining chairs ‘model 310’ designed by Erik Buck and produced by Christian Christensens Møbelfabrik in Denmark in the 1960’s. The elegant design, and condition of the solid teak frames make this a very nice set. The woolen upholstery is original and therefore has a few darker stains. For the rest the whole set is in beautiful condition, as shown in the pictures.

Erik Buck (sometimes spelled Buch) was a Danish furniture designer born in 1923. There’s little knowledge on his personal life. He took an apprenticeship as a furniture joiner with C. Bagger in Helsingør and graduated from the School of Interior Design in 1947, under the direction of Finn Juhl. A year later he fouded his own design studio in Copenhagen and was employed with architect Magnus Poulsson on the project of Oslo City Hall. He worked with several furniture companies to produce high quality pieces. He made over 30 commercial furniture designs, the OD-61 stool and the ‘Model 49’ dining chair being the most famous ones. Many of Buch’s designs are named after the year in which they were conceived, especially those produced by the cabinetmaker and furniture manufacture Oddense Maskinsnedkeri.
Buck used organic, smooth lines to complete his modern designs. Like his school director Finn Juhl and many other midcentury Danish designers,
Like many of his Danish contemporaries, Buch combined fabric, and leather with nicely grained woods, such as polished teak, oak, and rosewood.
It is believed that Buch passed away in 1973, though some sources state 1982. His professional legacy remains vivid as his designs are still being produced today and the vintage pieces are highly sought after on the international collector’s market.
