Set of 2 side chairs by Straatman, Loral & Cie
These rare side chairs carry a stamp by the Antwerp furniture company Straatman, Loral & Cie and date back to 1960. This company was most famous for its collaboration on the SL58, presented at the world Expo in 1958 in Brussels, a similar yet even more minimalist dining chair by architect Léon Stynen. We’ve found no evidence so far that this design too is made by Léon Stynen nor by Boris Tabacoff, who they are sometimes attributed to as well. In any case, the chairs are in good, vintage condition with the original chrome frame, black skai upholstery and nickle plated buttons. Some small using marks on the skai and some corrosion underneath, as shown in the pictures.
