Rocking chair ‘RAR’ by Ray & Charles Eames (Sold)

This rocking chair is a Herman Miller edition of the RAR (Rocking Armchair Rod Base) with a fiberglass shell, designed by Charles & Ray Eames. The earliest shell chairs go back to the 1950’s and are still in production today, now at Vitra. The shell has the Herman Miller label and warranty sticker underneath. Cushion was re-attached through the shell with 4 small non-original screws. There’s also an extra hole next to one of the screws. The wooden base, metal frame and hopsack fabric cushion are all in good condition.  The shockshells have been replaced by the previous owner. There’s no cracks or missing parts in the organically shaped fiberglass shell. This classic is not to be missed.
