Monk chair, Sweden, 1930’s (Sold)

This corner side chair is a typical Swedish monastery style chair, dating back to the 1930’s. It has a patinated oak frame with beautiful handmade carving patterns throughout. Each of these monk chairs is unique with the intricately carved patterns and markings. Originally these chairs were used without cushions but the previous owner, a professional upholsterer, made a removable triangular cushion in beautiful kvadrat wool for this one. Some small imperfections but the chair is in good, sturdy condition and the cushion is in mint condition. A very decorative piece that pairs very well with our Swedish carved candelabra.
