Lounge chair ‘Alky’ by Giancarlo Piretti (Sold)

Velvet lounge chair ‘Alky’ designed by Italian designer Giancarlo Piretti. This chair was first produced by Castelli in 1969. The dutch brand Artifort took over production some years after. This multifunctional lounge chair marries comfort with a unique design. The frame inside and aluminium feet are original but the mold in cold foam has been remade completely on this chair. It also got a brand new upholstery in Angora, a high end velvet, with a wool-tencel pile, looking like a mohair. It feels very soft, has a cooling effect in summer yet feels warm in winter. This fabric has a good breathability and is very durable with an intense ochre-rust colour. The cover can be taken off to be cleaned, thanks to the zipper on the bottom of the chair. In excellent condition. No label present anymore.
