Daybed by Poul Volther
This rare daybed, designed by Poul Volther for FDB Mobler in Denmark during the 1960’s has been re-upholstered by a professional upholsterer with a valuable lightgrey fabric by Bruder fabrics, finished with a soft cognac leather cushion roll held in place on the matress with a leather strap. The upholstery has a zipper on the underside, so the cover can be taken off to dry-clean it. The foam matress is also new and clean as a whistle. The simple lines, the joinery on the corners and the beautiful warm solid oak used on the frame are details that make this a rare, standout piece. The wood was treated with natural linseed oil. The beech slats that were once painted in yellow, were sanded, stained in light oak and varnished in our workshop. One broken slat was glued back together. In very good, restored and re-upholstered condition.
