Coffee table ‘Hexa’ (Sold)
Playful coffee table that was designed by french designer Bernard Vuarnesson and produced by Bellato in Italy during the 1980’s. This Japanese inspired beauty can be enlarged on all sides by extending the table leaves. It has 4 table leaves within a frame, made of iroko wood. The reversible table leaves are coloured in white and dark blue and can be moved from left to right. There are some very light scratches on a few plates and one small ding that was restored properly. One of the iroko edges shows some discolorisation in the wood. Overall in good vintage condition, as shown in the pictures.

Who says design has to be boring? French engineer-designer Bernard Vuarnesson (born in 1935) has always had a very playful approach to design. He got a degree in engineering from the Ecole Supérieure du Bois (University of College of Wood) and with the foundation of Sculptures-Jeux in 1973 he and his wife Ariane Vuarnesson were involved for almost 10 years in designing not only interior items but also outdoor playgrounds, together with the Interior Architecture School in Camondo Paris. They also designed a lot of modular furniture pieces that are fun, colourful and transformable. The Hexa coffee table is one of Vuarnesson’s most famous designs, still sought after by design affecionada’s worldwide. It’s one of our favorite items in store!
