Cocoon ceiling lamp by Friedel Wauer (Sold)

This hanging ceiling lamp was designed by Friedel Wauer and produced by Goldkant Leuchten in Germany during the 1960’s. It features an internal steel structure with a single light socket for E27 fitted lamps. The frame is covered with sprayed resin forming a leatherette-like, silky skin which provides a beautiful, soft light effect. This stunning piece has similarities to the work of Achille Castiglioni. A few small darker spots on the base, but further in excellent good condition. The wiring is checked and in working condition.
