We have very little info on Erik Brouer, but he established his Brouer Møbelfabrik in 1956 in Åbyhøj in Denmark after he worked as a skilled cabinet maker for different other Danish furniture companies. Especially during the 1960’s and 1970’s the Brouer company exported a lot of credenzas, cabinets and dressers. Brouer furniture was popular during the danish midcentury design blooming period, especially in the US. In the 1980’s and 1990’s they got heavy competition from other Danish furniture companies and producers abroad and they closed in the early 2000’s.
