Art deco easy chair, France, 1930s
This art deco lounge chair was designed and produced in the 1930’s, probably in France. This piece leans heavily on the geometric cubism, typical for the high Art Deco era. The angular profile was in fashion during the 1930’s, just like the luxurious burl wood on the armrests. The upholstery was completely redone in quality fabric called ‘Ritz’ a green, cream and black geometric pattern completely in style with the art deco era. The plinth and small round feet are details that make this chair a remarkable interior gem. The front plinth is missing a chip in the middle, further in very good condition.
